The pre-school conundrum solved

A few weeks ago, Montana Headlines noted with approval a question Ed Kemmick asked back when the full-day kindergarten wars were raging in Helena.

"...does that mean children who go to all-day pre-school, starting at the age of 3 or 4, later perform better than kids who start their education in kindergarten?"

A Gazette guest editorial today somewhat answers that question. In "Everything I need to know I learned in preschool," a Billings area pre-school educator answers the question obliquely.

The question of long-term academic performance goes unanswered, but apparently if we went to pre-school and remained for the rest of our lives in a pre-school "safe, kind, and neat" mentality -- we would have World Peace.

How exactly one is supposed to trump that one will take some hard thought and reflection.
